But, hey ... they have McDonald now (A late independence bedtime story)

"WE PRACTICE SELECTIVE ANNIHILATION OF MAYORS AND GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS FOR EXAMPLE TO CREATE A VACUUM THEN WE FILL THAT VACUUM AS POPULAR WAR ADVANCES PEACE IS CLOSER"
(Guns N' Roses - Civil War)

Malaysia gained their independence from britain in 1957. In 1967, Singapore seperated from Malaysia and became a sovereign state within the Commonwealth. Philippines received its independence on 1946 from United States. India gains independence from Britain on 1947. do you ever wonder how our country had independence?

On August 6, 1945, the United States dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima. It followed with a second bomb against the city of Nagasaki on August 9. 60000 to 70000 people were killed by the Hiroshima bomb, and about 40000 by the bomb dropped on Nagasaki. Japan agreed to Allied terms of surrender on August 14th. On August 17, 1945, because there is Vacuum of Power in Indonesia when Japan surrender, Indonesia declared their independence. By the time British troops landed in September, a functioning republican administration was already established in many parts of Java and Sumatra.

now that i think about it, if US didn't annihilate Hiroshima & Nagasaki and Japan never surrender, we'd never get our independence. So, everytime we celebrate independence day, we are also celebrate the power of nuclear bomb and the dead of Hiroshima & Nagasaki's people. Should we give thank to US who had no pity for bombing Japan?
